My Antarctica

My Antarctica

Mountains, wind, ice and snow.
This is Antarctica.
Sights that can stun you,
And some that will shock you,
This is Antarctica.
It can leave you speechless,
Or you will babble mindlessly.
This IS Antarctica
Its beauty can mesmerize you,
But its harshness will scare you,
And the isolation can drive you mad.
This too is Antarctica.
Penguins, skuas and seals,
Are its permanent residents,
We just share their space from time to time.
The adventure gets you here,
The first time.
The money the second time,
After that it just gets into your blood,
And becomes a part of you.
THIS IS ANTARCTICA
