Annual General Meeting - June 27, 2007

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the annual general meeting of the members of the Ktaqamkuk Mi’kmaq Alliance Inc. will be held at the St. Stephen’s Parish Center, West Street, Stephenville, NL, on Wednesday, the 27th day of June, 2007 at 7:00 PM for the following purposes:

To receive the report of the Directors;
To receive the financial statements of the band for the year ended March 31, 2007 (with comparative statements relating to the preceding financial period);
To elect directors;
To defer the decision to appoint auditors to the next annual general meeting;
To amend the constitution and or by-laws so as to make the position of Secretary/Executive Assistant separate positions.
To transact such further or other business as may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment or adjournments thereof.

Members are entitled to vote at the meeting either in person or by Proxy. Those unable to attend are requested to read, complete, date, sign and return the enclosed form of Proxy. Please advise the KMA of any change in your mailing address.

A nomination meeting was held on May 10, 2007 at which time nominations for the positions of Chief, Vice-Chief, Secretary, Treasurer, and both Director positions were received. Those listed above, who presently hold those respective positions have accepted to once again offer themselves for re-election. Other nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the meeting. Elections for the positions of Vice-Chief for the Northern Peninsula and Vice-Chief of Bay St. George South will be held in their respective communities at a later date.

For the election as directors of the KMA of the persons nominated by Nomination’s Committee.
In his or her discretion, with respect to amendments or variations to matters identified in the Notice respecting the Annual General Meeting or any other matter(s) which may properly come before the Annual General Meeting.

The person appointed above in this Proxy shall vote in accordance with the specifications given herein and, in the absence of such specifications, shall vote in favor of the directors nominated by the Nominating Committee.
